Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating a LASTGATE account or joining a squad, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use LASTGATE. By signing up you confirm you meet this age requirement.

3. Beta period

LASTGATE is currently in beta. The service:

• Is provided "as-is" with no warranty
• May have bugs, downtime, or sudden feature changes
• May lose data — keep important information backed up elsewhere (your runs are also in Strava)
• Beta access is free and may continue to be free for early-access squads as a thank-you

4. Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your account secure
• One account per person
• You must not share account access with anyone outside your squad
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract data from the service
• Submit false telemetry to inflate squad rankings
• Harass other operatives via in-app messaging
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to overload, hack, or disrupt the service

6. Strava connection

To use the full LASTGATE experience you must connect a Strava account. You authorise LASTGATE to read your running activity data via Strava's API. You can revoke this access at any time via Strava → Settings → My Apps.

7. Health & safety disclaimer

• Consult a doctor before starting any training programme, especially if you have heart, joint, or respiratory conditions.
• The "Sentinel encounter" sprint mechanics encourage variable-intensity running. Push at your own pace; do not exceed your fitness level.
• LASTGATE is not responsible for injury, illness, or any adverse health outcome from following its training plans or in-app suggestions.
• Stop running and seek medical attention if you experience chest pain, dizziness, severe shortness of breath, or any unusual symptoms.

8. Intellectual property

All LASTGATE code, branding, lore, gameplay mechanics, and visual design are © 2026 Martin Shirley. All rights reserved.

You retain ownership of your run data. By using the service you grant us a non-exclusive licence to process that data to provide the service.

9. Limitations of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• LASTGATE is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months (currently £0 during beta)
• We do not warrant the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate

10. Changes to the service

We may add, modify, or remove features at any time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.

11. Termination

You can stop using the service at any time. Email hello@lastgate.app to delete your account.

We may terminate accounts for terms violations, prolonged inactivity (12+ months), or service shutdown.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England & Wales.
